Carrying Eggs Like Goldfish

ok--cant get pics to upload yet...

But at least I have figured out posting.

First? A quick adoption postwhattamala update:
The ATX? AMAZING.

At the same time Im thankful that others who fostered before me prepared me well for my re-entry into regular life.

In the sense that Im so glad to be HOMEHOMEHOME but, of course, with *that* comes more responsibilities.

Yada yada yada Im kind of surprised to find that I had more free time in Antigua (even with good old napless Baby I.I.N.T.C.T.M.).

There I could always hand her to a fellow commune (cult? :)) member so that I might pee-in-peace and (which I definitely saw coming) there were always other babies around. Even if Emma mowed em over like the Little Earthquake that she is (thanks to Ana Maria for that nickname)---I do think that she enjoyed having them around.

That said, I wouldnt trade the fostering experience for ANYTHING and wouldnt head back there for the world ;)

Now.

A question.

When might I get Baby Is It Normal To Hate To Be Put Down This Much to hang in her pack and play for a few minutes?

Im thinking run to the bathroom or fire off ONE email length o'time.

Now she wails as though Ive ripped off her arms and am beating her with said appendages.

Seriously.

oh, and for some reason the spell-check isnt happening here (for me) either so Im just posting errors and all.

It may be the confinment thing she is crying about (the P&P). Can you try to find an 'area' with a little more room that is pretty well baby proofed and put her there? Zachary did not like the P&P at all. Maybe the bathtub (with toys to discover and no water). This is a fun experience for kids. Or try to gate off an area. I think babies can't stand to think they are trapped.

yeah.....babies go through that.....where they don't want to be put down.......it will pass. In the meantime....put her down, assure her that you're right here or you'll be back...and then do what you need or want to do....that's just my approach. I'm sure there are many many approaches. Next week, she'll be telling you that she needs some alone time and if you can please go in the other room for a bit.

on another note, you'll probably get use to blogger..eventually...I have a blog here too. it's just okay.....i liked the live journal format.

So for photos there's a little button above where you type your entries. It looks like a photo of mountains. That's how I do my blogspot photos. Maybe you already knew that and there's something else going wrong. I have a love/hate relationship with blogspot, but am one of those "too lazy to move" people who kept my hotmail account for years and now refuse to relinquish Yahoo.

Loving the photos of Austin. I MISS Town Lake.

Cassandra has entered a fussy phase (hooohooo, when has she ever NOT been "fussy?") where she hates to be by herself in the play pen (we have the superyard XT or whatever it's called). But when I climb in there so she can cling to me occasionally, she gets better.

I guess the PNP is too small for you to climb in with laptop, though!

I let her do her fakeritis cry for a bit and she usually settles down. If it becomes a real cry, I'll pick her up again.

Re: pictures, I got tired of loading one pic at a time on blogger, so I started a free dropshots.com account, then I post the code for the whole day's pics, or just one pic at a time...
